Palm Treo Pro is Windows Based

The Palm Treo Pro that was previously annouced as the Treo 85, is going to be Windows based and not have the standard Palm OS. No news as to why this move was made or if the phone will be available in both OS formats when it comes time for retail. The Palm Treo Pro will be availble for GSM and no news about CDMA has been announce as of yet. There will be fast HSDPA (3G) data transfers and the whole thing is running on Windows Mobile Pro instead on Palm OS. The Palm Treo Pro will have Wi-Fi built into it as well as a microSD memory card slot. Other features include bluetooth, 3.5mm standard audio jack, microUSB port and a built in camera.

Samsung i7110 With Symbian S60 OS And A 5.0 Megapixel Camera

Samsung is expected to annouce the release a new Samsung handset. When it is officially announced, it's anticiopated to have a the Symbian OS preloaded and also with a 5.0 megapixel camera.

Symbian is a software licensing company that develops and licenses Symbian OS, one of the market-leading open operating system for advanced, data-enabled mobile phones known as smartphones.

Motorola Diversifies The ROKR EM25, EM28 and EM30

Motorola announced that the set of music-oriented devices, which add affordability to the ROKR series. The ROKR series is currently led by the Motorola E8, and all three devices seem to borrow something from its design. The new devices are Motorola EM25 ROKR, EM28 ROKR, and EM30 ROKR. Each of the handsets has a different form factor - a slider, a clamshell and a bar.

The Motorola EM30 ROKR is the bar-shaped handset and it comes with a morphing keypad (called ModeShift by Motorola). The morphing keypad illumination and key designation changes in accordance to the context - one moment it's a phone, and the next it's music player with only the music controls visible.

Other music-oriented features include FM radio with RDS, compatibility with Windows Media Player 11, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The MotoROKR EM30 is further equipped with a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks support, the proprietary Motorola CrystalTalk technology (which does improve calls quality) and a 2 megapixel snapper without auto focus. A microSD memory card slot is also on board capable of supporting cards with capacities of up to 8GB. Unfortunately there's no UMTS support, but that's expected having in mind the suggested low price point.

MOTOROKR EM30 is expected to be available worldwide in Q3 2008 starting with Taiwan.

The Samsung INNOV8 has features of a high end digital camera phone including 8 megapixel camera with blink shot and smile shot. It has a choice of an 8 or 16GB internal memory with FM radio and Bluetooth.

Other core features include a 12000mAh battery and a large 2.8” LCD screen, offering a convenient environment when viewing content on the Internet or maps on the GPS navigation feature.

iPhone Is Going To Best Buy and Radio Shack

It looks like this time around it will not just be the Apple Store and ATT Authorized Dealers selling the Apple iPhone. This time around, it is rumored that Radio Shack and Best Buy will have the second coming of the Apple iPhone with its’ new 3rd generation data feature. The first time around the estimated sales of the Apple iPhone were at 500,000 to 700,000. It’s hard to tell if history will repeat itself or exceed itself by out selling the estimates of last year.

The RIM Blackberry Bold Delayed Until Mid-August

The highly anticipated RIM Blackberry Bold 9000 is not being release until mid-august, there are apparently some issues regards to ATT software compatibility with the Blackberry Bold 9000. "It seems like AT&T and RIM are still having software issues with battery life and overheating. It has not been certified by AT&T yet"

Delta Airlines Now Testing Cell Phone Boarding Pass

A cell phone could help Delta Airlines passengers avoid long lines at the airport. This pilot program was not first introduced by Delta Airlines, last December, Continental Airlines was the first U.S. carrier to test this type of mobile check-in program.
